Past continuous
The accident
On a horrible night in December the accident happened. The rain was coming down heavily and the clouds were blocking out any moonlight that tried to break though. There was no power and Jamie was lighting some candles. She struck the match and a flamed flickered. A noise burst from the quiet and Jamie dropped the match. Flames were getting bigger and bigger. Jamie tried to put it out but couldn't. She was signalling for help but no one arrived. The house burnt down and no one survived.
